Sunny joined our family as a golden puppy, chasing his sister Hiker around the yard. In the summer of 2026, it took 48 hours to go from a happy two-dog household to a grieving family with one dog who kept waiting by the door for her brother.
We built this site in the middle of that grief. Not only to remember Sunny, but to keep celebrating Hiker, whom we'd already named Secretary of Defense, still diligently on duty from the yard, by the door, and even on the couch.
Fondly is where we keep the old photos and the small stories: the ordinary, funny, quietly wonderful parts of our four-legged family members, while we still have them, and after.
